This was a hiking club camp-out a few years ago around Utah's Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument area. After viewing post on Antelope Canyon it inspired me to look up my photos from this trip. We did the slot canyons called Peek-a-boo and Spooky in the same day. We climbed up one hiked across the top and then hiked down the other. I think we went up Spooky and down Peek-a-boo, I could have that backwards.
At the start of the hike we had some nice cairns to follow down the sandstone rocks.
Following cairns down the sandstone and eventually we came to a sandy wash that we followed to the start of the slot canyon
The mouth of the first slot canyon, I think this is Spooky
At the very start of the first slot canyon there was a climb up the sandstone. Everyone was helping each other with a hand, spot or push to get up that first little climb.
Working our way through the slot
Yes, of course there I am.
This is what the slot looks like from the top view.
Some sandstone formations along our route to the next slot canyon
The beginning of what I think is Peek-a-boo slot canyon from the top end.
You had to climb under sometimes
It was around noon and we did get some good light coming in the top
Another selfee
Most of the bottom of the slots were sandy
This slot gets very narrow and you have to twist and turn to work you way through it
And it even gets more narrow!
some rock obstacles along the way.
The mouth and or bottom of the slot canyon
Hope you enjoyed my adventure!
Thanks
