Slot Canyons, Peek-a-boo and Spooky in Utah's Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument area

This was a hiking club camp-out a few years ago around Utah's Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument area. After viewing Hive account@best-trip-eva post on Antelope Canyon it inspired me to look up my photos from this trip. We did the slot canyons called Peek-a-boo and Spooky in the same day. We climbed up one hiked across the top and then hiked down the other. I think we went up Spooky and down Peek-a-boo, I could have that backwards.

At the start of the hike we had some nice cairns to follow down the sandstone rocks.

Following cairns down the sandstone and eventually we came to a sandy wash that we followed to the start of the slot canyon

At the very start of the first slot canyon there was a climb up the sandstone. Everyone was helping each other with a hand, spot or push to get up that first little climb.

You had to climb under sometimes

It was around noon and we did get some good light coming in the top

Most of the bottom of the slots were sandy

This slot gets very narrow and you have to twist and turn to work you way through it

And it even gets more narrow!
