One of the things I love about living abroad is that it presents some rare opportunities that I would be difficult to experience where I'm from.
One of those opportunities - building your own house.
In the heavily developed areas like the SF Bay Area where I'm from it's impossible for most people to purchase their own house and most areas are (over) developed already.
Living in Cordoba, Argentina we were able to find an undeveloped lot in pretty nice neighborhood for a reasonable fee. In mid 2017 we started the construction process.
Just another example of some of the amazing things you get to experience while living abroad. I recognize my ability to make US dollars while living here gives me opportunities that not all locals have and for that I'm extremely grateful.
While getting to design every aspect of your own home is very exciting, it can also quickly get overwhelming. Luckily we've got a family member as a great architect so we feel like we're in good hands.
Hope to finish and move in mid 2018!
