The little mermaid of Copenhagen is a bronze statue that is displayed at a promenade by a waterside in Copenhagen. The statue was made by Edvard Eriksen and is inspired by the fairy tale of the Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen. It was placed on the rock at the promenade in 1913 and has been a tourist attraction ever since.
I took this photo during a visit to Copenhagen in 2012. Wonderful city.
