Want a place that gives you peace and quiet? An Island that allows you to relax with any buzzing sounds of vehicles and just the waves touching the sand. With activities that can cater cliff diving or a tour of the place.
How to get there?
Located at the north coastal part of Cebu Province. Carnaza Island is a very remote place that, the way to travel there is through "sakayan"(big boats) and you need to wait hours to get a ride.
The Island is perfect for those who really wanted to stay overnight. I mean you don't have a choice, the sakayan only available the next thing in the morning.
The sakayan will drop you off right in front of the famous triangular mini hut/cottages — Carnaza Eco Park Resort. There's a choice if you want to rent a cottage or a room overnight. When you arrived there you should ask the care taker about the food, they can cook dinners and breakfast (with personal charge) or you can bring your food from the mainland.
We arrived their almost 2 o'clock on the afternoon and the first thing we did was swimming at the beach. The water was so cleared and the sand is all white. What do you expect, Carnaza Island beaches are mostly white sand.
Activities They Offer.
Tour Through Habal-Habal
The resident there will offer to rent their Habal-habal(Motorcycle) for whole day or depending on how many places you want to visit. Never forget to visit a lot of coves and diving spot.
Hiking
Sounds basic right? But this Island deserves it. Mostly residents hike so why should tourists not to enjoy the place by hiking. A long the way you will see a lot of flora and fauna, the untouched nature and most importand the residence— they are very friendly. Smiling at you.
Tour In Different Coves
Skull cove is one of the famous beach in Carnaza due to its crystal clear beach and a small cave with real human skull. Aside from that the place has a helipad with a panoramic view of the sea.
Cliff Diving And Scuba Diving
The place offer these extreme activities. I know scuba is just diving, but for a person who doesn't know how to swim— activities involve diving is an extreme thing to do for me.
Actually, today they have a lot to offer to every tourists that are really into adventures and activities, but let alone the beach can accommodate the wanting to relax and enjoy JUST the scenery.
Remember when you are in another place, be mindful about the guidelines and never to attempt breaking the rules the implemented. It is important for them and very helpful for us to avoid any accidents.
How Much It Cost
The amount we spent was a bit expensive, it rages to Php 1,000 to Php 3,000 per person. Here me out first. We always travel by bus and mostly we don't bring foods so basically we spent much money compare to bringing your own food and drinks. But if Carnaza Island alone you can enjoy the paradise for a cheaper rate, just be cautious in spending your money.
