The no plan vacation.
This week I'm on vacation and sitting at a cafe, enjoying the breezes of the sea. Never mind that I'm drafting a Steemit post.
What a good moment to reflect on our style of vacation.
We don't like to plan our vacation in advance. Just general idea of location and lodging (sometimes not even that), and the rest we play by ear.
We may not hit all the "must-see" spots. But whatever. Our philosophy is simple: Relaxation is number one.
Avoid places where it is too crowded that it would suck out the enjoyment, drain time, add stress... No no no to any long lines. This sometimes means we will go places on off peak times and just be like a local, as much as it is possible without sticking out like a Chinese sore thumb.
So yeah, no rush! The next priority is to find interesting locations that are unique. Websites like TripAdvisor now make it quite easy to find places on the fly. We may also consult the local concierge or random people we stumble upon along the way. This is not unlike finding one's way around Steemit to find different communities.
Today we were browsing around and stumbled into people offering deals on a sunset dinner dancing cruise. Fantastic experience for the whole thing. Will say more at a later time.
This contrasts with the "vacations" of my past that involve frantic running around to hit up all the major spots. Waking up super early. Yuck. No no no. Go with the flow!
My thoughts for the day. Will soon show some nice photos from travel. I'll leave this one for now!
Thinking of doggy :)
