Lac de Melu is a beautiful mountain lake above Valle de La Restonica. You can reach it with one hour's walk from the parking at the end of the road.
The path is rocky yet enjoyable. The rocks are not sharp and are solid under your footsteps. Good mountain or trail running shoes are a must.
The lake itself lies at the altitude of 1711 meters. The water is warmer than you would expect. I took a refreshing swim in the lake.
The road to the lake is a winding and narrow 15 kilometers long affair from Corte. Many close encounters and reverse maneuvers are a norm.
You might consider taking a navette which two Corte bus companies offer.
It was a beautiful day in the mountains today. Another great Corsica experience.
