Deep in the Ethiopian Highlands one is standing at the roof of Africa. This vast high-altitude plateau, marked with volcanic peaks and rent with deep gorges, is one of the world’s most dramatic landscapes. Great rivers and gorges dissect lush forests that shelter some of the world’s most endangered wildlife. This is the last wild habitat of the rare endemic wildlife such as Walia ibex, mountain Nyala, Ethiopian wolf and Gelada baboons.
