You can find those recharge stations at every Train station near the gates. Especially when you exit the gate since you might need to recharge your card before leaving the station.
Step 2)
Luckily for us, the Japanese included an English version. Just press the button in the upper right corner.
Step 3)
After changing to English you are presented with lots of button choices. None of them are of any interest to us. Proceed to step 4.
Step 4)
Just insert you IC Card into the “Card” slot. Usually, it’s written in Japanese and English. But just in case. The Japanese Version is:
カード
Step 5)
A new display appears. Press the Button “Recharge IC Card” in the middle of the screen.
Step 6)
Now you can see your current balance, as well as 6 possible values to recharge your card with. In my case, I choose 1000 Yen.
Step 7)
Just insert the chosen amount of money in the “Bill” slot. The Japanese Version is:
紙幣 or しへい
Step 8)
Almost done. Just check everything and press the button “Receipt”.
Step 9)
Pick up your card from the machine. Your IC Card is recharged. Have fun traveling through Japan!
