Hello! Yan and Juta here.
As promised, we are back with a story of our next 2 Japan cities Gero and Takayama.
Before diving into the story, we just wanted to say how amazing it is to share with you guys :) Your feedback is unbelievable, thank you for your support, steemians!
Today we want to take you to small, mountainous and quiet town.
Our way started with a 'train journey' to Gero, which was like in the movies, just imagine, you are sitting right to your boyfriend or girlfriend, holding each other's hands, listening to an inspirational music and thinking about life while the majestic views behind the window change so fast that makes you dream and be thankful for everything in your life. The best meditation!
Coming out of the train station we felt like we were lost in our own dream because that town was literally hugged by mountains and for us, it is just like a paradise. While we were going to our hotel, we saw maybe 3 people, it was really quiet during that time of the day. After Tokyo city, it was so unusual, but yet so peaceful.
Look at these Japan rail passes, sooo cute :)
So you want to ask why we chose this town? Because of the hot springs in a hotel, haha. As every day was full of new emotions and long walks, we wanted to have a rest and just give a moment for ourselves.
Before going to sauna we had a cup of green tea with a wonderful view to the mountains.
And finallyyy!!! The day of hiking has come, we were waiting for it from the very beginning of our vacation. The thought of breathtaking views and fresh air got us super excited. For hiking, we went to Takayama to explore the Hida Mountains also known as the Japanese Alps. Firstly, we took a Shinhotaka Ropeway for some beautiful views of the Northern Alps.
P.S. A nice video is waiting for you in the end of the story :)
Secondly, from the upper station, we did a hike to a mountain hut (1 to 1.5 hours), with stunning views of Kamikochi. We were lucky with the weather, it wasn't hot and even a bit fresh. While going to the top of the mountain we met a lot of people, saw magnificent views and even enjoyed the silence. The hike was rocky and it looked like a path from a fairytale book which leads to unknown and mysterious place.
We couldn't stop every five minutes to capture the beauty not only with eyes but also with a camera, because of the lack of the time. Ok, guys, we won't lie to you, actually, we stopped to take pictures, cuz we were tired and needed to have a minute to boost our energy up :)))
The whole trek was really enjoyable and with every step we got closer to the top the more foggier it was. You know that feeling when you literally go into the cloud? So yeah, it was magical and at the same time humid and cold, about 15 degrees.
The mountains got ups and downs, just like our life does, but when you get to the top you realize that none of them is important. In this photo, you can see how happy we are standing right there and having a moment of a bliss.
They say you are always taller than the mountain you stand upon, so keep that in mind.
Because in the end, you won't remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. CLIMB THAT GODDAMN MOUNTAIN -Jack Kerouac-
We were running out of time and didn't want to be late for a ropeway down, that's why we had to run. And you know what? Running is way more fun, it makes you to feel the adrenaline and to be concentrated, because if not, you will fall :) CHEERS!
