Hotel Icon is a luxury hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui that has won multiple awards since its opening in 2011. We were very fortunate because a family friend who works in Hotel Icon was able to give us a discounted rate for our stay.
As the shuttle bus rolled to a stop before the wooden front doors, eager doormen rushed forward to assist in unloading the luggage bags. We walked through the big doorway as a series of greetings and friendly smiles rang out.
We were also greeted by a huge green wall, created and installed by the French botanist and artist Patrick Blanc.
After checking in, we headed to Level 18 and went to our room.
We got a corner room with a harbour view!
Apparently, Hotel Icon guests enjoy free access to the Minibar. . .
A complimentary Nespresso pod machine. . .
And a tea, creamer, and sugar drawer that is supplemented by Jagabee potato chip snacks! Yoohoo!
A particularly special perk for guests is a mobile phone and portable battery with unlimited international and local calls and data! Being able to take the Wi-Fi connectivity around certainly equates less stressed guests on-the-go!
Another feature that I especially enjoyed during our stay -- the stylish rocking chair.
After taking all these pictures, the doorbell rang.
The bellboy had arrived with our luggage piece!
He seemed ready to leave immediately, but we scrambled to give him a little tip. I’m not sure if that’s to be expected in luxury hotels in HK. =D
The Mann started to fiddle with the radio, while I took more pics.
Here're some views of the bathroom.
The rain shower.
We found a design flaw though. These long tubes of Apelles toiletries were too tall to fit into the little in-built shelf in the wood wall of the shower. Well, we arranged them nicely on the floor and did some yoga stretches during every shower! =)
The toilet sits in an open cubicle of its own beside the bathtub.
When I walked back out of the bathroom, The Mann asked, “Are you hungry?”
Why, now that you ask. . . !!! =DD
He shot a few WhatsApp texts to his buddy and we had a lunch location!
