Kayaking The West Coast of Jura
Here's another photo of the peacefulness of kayaking in the Scottish Islands.
This one is taken on a beach on the West Coast of Jura in the Inner Hebrides. The island is 29 miles long and 7 miles wide in places.
The name Jura comes from the Norse words meaning Deer Island and it is one of Scotland's last wildernesses. Today over 6500 deer live on six estates on the island whilst the human population is less than 200.
I like how the kayaks and kayaker in the photograph give a sense of the scale and spaciousness of the landscape.
