Driving the Tuscany Hills to San Gimignano
Gives you a feeling of Freedom. The nature all arround you is beautifull, And driving between the olive trees and wine yards brings out A burgundy feeling.
San Gimignano is known for its towers up on the hills.
You can see these from miles away when driving in.
In the center of San Gimignano there used to be over 70 towers, at this moment only 14 of them still remain. This "Manhattan" of Tuscany has these towers because between the 12th And the 14th century wealthy build them more or les as a way of showing How wealthy they are. Between these towers the rivelty came to a boiling point, with bloody fights as a result.
These days you can only find a lot of tourists on these squares.
