Time to look at some more unique celebrations all over the world!
Yesterday I introduced this new topic within my blog and I want to thank you all for the nice words and support, some told me they could not wait to see more of it! As mentioned I will post about the best celebrations in the world weekly so you are sure not to miss out! Ready for the second part of this series?
Let’s go!
Feste de Lemanja
Let’s head to Salvador to be part of Festa de Lemanja. Paying tribute to the goddess of the Sea and Fertility. Go to Praia Rio Vermelho in the morning to see people host ceremonies and offerings of Cake, Bottles of perfume and flowers.
The festival continues to the night with the best bands of Salvador playing for you. Enjoy!
Fete du Citron
Who is visiting or traveling to the Cote D’Azur between February 11th and the first of March? And who likes Citrus Fruits? If the answer is yes two those two questions you just have to be part of this celebration.
The celebrations involve 145 tons of Citrus Fruits and over 230K people having a look.
The celebrations are a mix of music and famous parades and just a celebration of musical as well, you don’t wait any longer just reserve your spot and be part of this unique festival.
If it’s not really your cup of tea, still go and enjoy the weather!
Groundhog Day
We all saw the movie? Every year on the second of February it’s Groundhog Day in the United States and Canada.
If you want to be part of the biggest celebration, go to Punxsutawney to be part of the 40K audience. But what is it all about? A soon as the Groundhog awakes on the second of February he will come outside and show himself, if he sees his own shadow he will go back in and the winter will take 6 more weeks, if he stays outside the winter will end soon! Sound to me like something I would celebrate.
Hadaka Matsuri
Translated the Naked festival! Are you ready to be part or just look at 10K men who want to get a hold on some sacred sticks! Okay that just sounded weird, goal of the celebration will be to put sticks into a box filled with rice known as the Masu. The lucky one will be blessed with good fortune for the following year.
The festivals begins at 4pm with musical performances, snack vendors and music. Throughout the afternoon the contestants race through an ice pool in order to prepare for the competition ahead.
And then at exactly midnight all the lights are shut off and the sacred sticks are thrown into the crowd to start the chaos.
And remember the one who is able to put in in the box with rice wins, only challenge? 10K people trying to do the same!
Hope you enjoyed the second list of the best celebrations in the world! Back for more next week! So where will you go?
