The sun had set and the temperature was starting to drop. Eventually we reached the base camp near Baleni Pass where we made a slum our base. We stayed here for 2 days and came back home after celebrating the new year.

बात कुछ साल पुरानी है जब हमने सोचा कि नया साल इस बार बर्फ में मनाएंगे। तो इसी कड़ी में हमने फैसला किया कि बलेनी पास जाएंगे। आजकल सर्दियां आ चुकी हैं और ऊपर के इलाकों में बराबरी शुरू हो चुकी है।
यह जगह हिमाचल प्रदेश में है और इसकी ऊंचाई 3850 मीटर है। चड़ी तक हम गाड़ी से गये जहाँ से आगे हमें पैदल रास्ते को पकड़ना था। पहले 4 घंटे तो ब4फ़ नहीं आयी लेकिन आगे आगे हमें घुटनों तक बर्फ का सामना करना पड़ा। कभी हम बर्फ में धसते तो कभी गिरते।
सूरज ढल चुका था और तामपान गिरने लगा था। आखिरकार हम बलेनी पास के बेस कैम्प पहुंच गए जहां मौजूद एक झुग्गी को हमने अपना ठिकाना बनाया। यहां हम 2 दिन रहे और नया साल मानकर वापस अपने आने घर आ गए।
