Today's post will take you back to a time that seems so long ago. Halloween! Back then, a virus was nothing more than a protein our bodies were equipped to handle. That may still be the case for the majority, but that's besides the point.
Before people were afraid of dying a miserable death, we did things where large groups of folks gathered. Had we any idea of what was to come, we would have attended dozens of concerts last summer and fall.
As it stands, most of us can only dream of better times to come or reminisce about good times past. This post takes on the latter, though it doesn't take a journey too far into the past.
4 Carved Pumpkins Sitting On A Fence
We're not always on top of the pumpkin scene during Halloween, but we got motivated last year. I remembered to pick some up a couple days before the big night and they weren't easy to find.
We all went to carving whichever Pumpkin ended up in our lap, making quite the sloppy mess. I have to remember to photograph that process next year, as it's one of the best parts.
All in all, the different faces and images we carved turned out alright. Much worse attempts have occured in years gone by.
An October Trip To Magic Mountain
We did do well last year in getting the kids and ourselves out for some fun. We hit up a couple water parks for day trips and went to Knott's Berry Farm.
It had been a few years since we visited Magic Mountain, though, so we decided it was time to return. My camera fingers weren't super active that day, but I did catch this moon shot that night.
Taking Interstate 5 home that night headed southbound brought us right past Disneyland. By the time we were passing through, Disney was putting on its closing fireworks show.
My wife was behind the wheel which allowed me to grab a recording of the whole event as we traveled. I uploaded this video while trying to figure out ThreeSpeak a while back.
Here are the bright comet lights of burning sulfer above I-5.
Hope you enjoyed following us on a journey into the past. It was a time not so long ago, though it seems like forever now.
Stay safe. Stay sane and....
