The Phap Lam Pagoda was built in 1934 and sits in a delightful courtyard in the midst of trees and amazing large statues of the Buddha and other iconic figures. It was originally and still is by some known as Tinh Hoi Pagoda, it was renamed in 1970. The site is roughly three quarters of an acre in size and the typical Asian style pagoda in 45 ft wide and about 80 ft deep.
In the early part of this century it underwent a huge refurbishment that took four years, before it eventually was re-inaugurated in 2009. It is the headquarters of Buddhist studies and home of the executive Board of Danang Buddhism.
Some of the statues here are really imposing including one huge seated Buddha and two golden ones. The courtyard and grounds are a nice place to spend time. It is very tranquil and the trees over some lovely shaded areas.
The Phap Lam Pagoda is the largest in Danang and an important attraction for the city. It certainly merits a visit on any trip to Danang.
