Hello itinerants all over the world!
Revitalize your system and soul by enjoying your staycation at one of the most unique hostels in Puerto Princesa Palawan. Officially, the Province of Palawan is an archipelagic province of the Philippines that is located in the region of MIMAROPA. It is the largest province in the country in terms of total area of jurisdiction. No wonder why it took part in the New 7 Wonders of the world for it has a lot of breath-taking and picturesque tourist destinations such as the Underground River in Puerto Princesa. I may describe this as a Jungle in the City for it's not the secluded from the town and very accessible from anywhere but still gives you the comfort of living in a countryside. It's my second time visiting Puerto Princesa, you may wanna read my blog about my first trip to PUERTO PRINCESA PALAWAN, PHILIPPINES! (UNDERGROUND RIVER)
A week ago, I went to Puerto Princesa to process some documents and thought of having an affordably relaxing stay. I was just fortunate because my friend who works as a volunteer there referred me this. The vibe that the places gives is very pleasant to my sensations. You can only hear the chirping of the birds, swinging of the trees, cool and gentle gasps of the wind and of course seeing the beautiful view of tall trees and bamboo quarters. This is truly a place that worth your vacation. As for them, Bamboo Hostel offers travelers to take “vacation from their vacation,” with a relaxing escape from the usual noise and bustle of hostel life.
They offer different types of accommodations such as the following.
A solo backpacker tent, it costs roughly 150-250 (2.959 to 4.93 US Dollar) pesos per night.
Spend your nights in this unique, open-air, Gazebo Dorm. It costs around 250-350 (4.93 to 6.90 dollars) pesos
Since I brought my work with me during my trip, I availed the non-aircon twin bedroom with functional electric fan which costs 600.00 pesos (11.84 dollars) .
They also have air conditioned room for family which costs 1200.00 pesos (23.67 dollars). As for me, it's better just to take the non-aircon accommodations since the place is really cool specially at night and to really feel the its natural ambiance. And this hostel is actually built by the owners who are travelers themselves for backpackers like them. What I also like about this hostel is that their employees and staff are very friendly. They will really guide you on the things that you can do during your trip and all.
They also have an area with comfortable chairs and tables where guests can hang out and chill together. I commend their employees for maintaining the place clean and green. From time to time, they check and clean the all the areas in the hostel every after the guests use them except for the drought leaves in the ground cause it's given that it drops from time to time due to the weather and trees surrounding the area. It is really like a little of piece of paradise for millennial travelers for it does look like a modernized jungle.
They also have a tree house lounge where guests can stay after they check out while waiting for their flights or other activities. Thumbs up for their strong internet connection. It's not a guarantee of the stability of the speed since it also depends upon the weather and number of users. I personally like the place for I had a relaxing stay and felt valued by their employees. One thing that I can suggest to them is that they should improve their menu for it's only limited and quite expensive. I highly suggest to travelers you may just buy food from the city. Don't worry because you are allowed to use their hostel kitchen and cook for your own food. If you don't feel like cooking, they also offer European foods in their menu.
