"He who does not know how to look back at where he came from
will never get to his destination." - Dr. Jose Rizal (Filipino National Hero)
That's why we travel back to the old times as we visited Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, a 400 hectare heritage park located at Bagac, Bataan Philippines. It's really interesting to see how the Spanish-Filipino houses or simply called as casas or in Tagalog language as bahay na bato, was significantly restored in this place. It is the only property in the Philippines that serves as a bridge between the rich history of the Spanish colonial era and the contemporary luxury and comfort of a modern hotel. (Yes, It's a hotel and a museum )
Everywhere in this place is picturesque, an instagram worthy too! So it's a time for me to take my signature-pose. (talikodgenic š)
And another interesting thing is that every casa has it's own story. For example, Casa BiƱan was formerly Jose Rizal's mother's house in BiƱan, Laguna. In one of its bedrooms, a gripping family drama once took place. You can re-imagine how Jose Rizal's mother's life as a young lady. There's more thing to do here, swimming, ride a kalesa and many more. You can check their website for more info: http://www.lascasasfilipinas.com
A TRAMVIA service was used as the primary mode of transportation in Manila from 1800-1945. And you can see it moving here at Las Casas.
