A Quick Walk Around Chinatown
London, England
#MarketFriday Photography
Good Afternoon folks, Happy Friday! Hope you all have a great weekend ahead. Last month I took a trip to London, England for the 2018 World Blockchain Forum. While I was in town, I walked around and explored a bit with . At one point, we ended up in the London Chinatown section near Piccadilly Circus.
London's Chinatown is an ethnic enclave made up of restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets, souvenir shops, and more Chinese operated businesses.
When you arrive to Chinatown, you know exactly where you are. Everything around you becomes Chinese. There are large traditional Chinese archways in the middle of the streets, as seen in the first photo of this post taken at the entrance to Wardour Street.
Below is a look at the outside window of a Chinese restaurant. The roasted ducks and meats are dangling in the sill for all to see.
Many of the people walking around the streets of Chinatown were of Asian descent. It was pretty cool how a single ethnicity took over an entire neighborhood section in the city of London.
From the people to the architecture, there was a lot of Chinese culture in this small section of London. Below is a look inside the window of a corner store. All of the snacks for sale were Chinese imports. Chinatown was loaded with Chinese food and goods. It was definitely an interesting experience!
