Venezuela has always been characterized and highlighted abroad for its beautiful beaches so showing them this wonderful place is a source of pride for me.
Los Roques is an area of exceptional beauty and with an enormous ecological diversity here you can find: around 61 species of corals, 200 species of crustaceans, 140 species of mollusks, 45 species of echinoderms, 60 species of sponges, and 280 species of Fishes. In addition, 92 species of birds can be seen in the park, 50 of which are migratory. There are 4 species of Sea Turtle in danger of worldwide extinction that are regularly nested in these Islands, including the Eretmochelys Imbricata. The impeccable coral reefs of Los Roques, the richness of birds and marine life, the beautiful beaches of white sands and the transparent, warm blue-green waters, make Los Roques a paradise for Diving, Kitesurfing, Windsurfing, Sailing and Fishing.
What makes Los Roques an extraordinary place is the enormous expanse of calm sea, the presence of lagoons, cays, and white sand beaches (of coral origin) and crystal clear waters of incredible colors.
Of the Roques come 90% of the lobsters that are consumed in Venezuela. In November, the Lobster Festival is celebrated when the fishing season begins.
The coral reef barrier in Los Roques is one of the most conserved in the Caribbean, among the most common species are: Macabí fish, Róbalo, Sábalo, Mero and Barracuda.
For this and much more is that Los Roques becomes an excellent destination to enjoy as a family and escape a while of so much stress.
