For as long as I can remember, it's always been a dream to travel to this far, far away land called Aotearoa. I didn't know what it was called then. I just saw it in a TV commercial while growing up in the Philippines. At the time, riding on an airplane was a dream in itself.
Fast forward to 2013, I quit my job and packed up my life to finally realize my dream of backpacking around the world. First destination: New Zealand or Aotearoa in Maori. Hitting two birds with one stone.
Mt Ngauruhoe a.k.a. Mt Doom
Queenstown
Glow Worms Cave
Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast, an adrenaline junkie, a photographer, or a wine lover...New Zealand has got you covered.
Moeraki Boulders
Bungy Jump, Queenstown
Church of the Good Shepherd
Wairau River Winery
Small but mighty. NZ boasts picturesque landscapes, majestic waterfalls, secluded bays, and endless list of walking tracks. You could get lost forever in the land of the long white cloud and not care a bit.
Lupins at Lake Tekapo
Bowen Falls, Fiordland NP
Punga Cove
Queen Charlotte Sound Track
I was fortunate enough to call this place home for a year and a half. But I am due for another visit as it's been over two years since I left. I'm coming for you NZ, you've still got a piece of my heart.
