In the photos above are Apo Wand Od the oldest (101 yrs old) and said to be the last "mambabatok" (a Filipino term for traditional tattoo artist), the children of the Butbut tribe, and the sunset framed in the crops of the Butbut people in the remote ethnic village in Buscalan, Philippines.
I stayed 3 days and 2 nights with their tribe and I've seen people from all over the world and all walks of life who found a temporary home living as one of their people. Most of them are here to get a signature tattoo from Apo Wang Od herself. There has been a movement campaigning Apo a living National Artist of the Philippines or at least a National Living Treasure award. You can find this on social media with the hashtag #WangOdNationalArtis.
