I absolutely love Taiwan. My wife was born in Taipei, so we have visited often. There is SO MUCH going on at the street level—so much so that when I come back to America, everything appears to be moving in slow motion!
The street markets, particularly the night markets, are a sublime experience. Between the two of us, we can easily taste 8 different items for $12 or less, and the food is unreal. There’s tons of unique sights at these markets.
One of my fav market food items are the “scallion pancakes”. We don’t have anything like it in America, so it’s difficult to describe. What can I say, ‘you had to be there’.
I highly recommend Taipei. There’s so much to do, great shopping, great nightlife, and the people are super friendly. Many speak English. And it’s super safe.
