Not of silver or gold, but nature's beauty is a natural treasure as well.
My family is visiting the Rocky Mountain National Park, and enjoying the beauty and greenery of it all.
It is difficult to capture the grandeur and beauty on camera. I don't think I did it justice with my photos. Wide expansive meadows, beautiful lakes and streams with clear clean waters, high mountain ranges with hardy plants. We hiked quite a bit, and taking it all in.
We caught sight of a mother moose and its calf. While supposedly wild, the mother has a tag collar, so it might be an animal tracked by the Park Rangers.
My kids earned their Junior Ranger badge, so they are thrilled.
There were once prospectors for gold and silver here, but only low quality silver ore was found and it was not economically viable. All that is left are abandoned mining towns such as Lulu City.
