In this post, I am going to talk about my visit to Batuan in Bali, Indonesia, which I made back in July 2009.
Batuan is a village in the south-east of Bali, famous for its artwork, and many art galleries. It is also known for the performance of the ancient Gambuh dance, which happens here every full moon (1).

When I visited Batuan, I spent some time browsing in its art galleries, and also in Puseh Batuan, one of its temples. There must have been a ceremony going on, because there was a lot of people in the temple.

There was also a beautiful little Turtle Shrine in the complex, that I stumbled across;
