There are so many beautiful islands in Thailand, so many different ones to choose from to relax on the beach. But tell me, how many are National Parks? Koh Samet is a really special island near Bangkok who’s beauty and charm was slowly revealed as I stayed there.
Waking up in the morning, steps away from the beach for only $55 dollars a night. It doesn't get much better than this. I grabbed my towel and headed down to the nearly empty beach, found a spot underneath a tree and listened to some music as I soaked in the warmth.
When everyone got up we rented scooters and rode around exploring the island. Such a beautiful island with rock lined beaches and clear waters. The trees hanging over the sand bringing plenty of shade cover. There are a bunch of dogs roaming around the island freely, very cute it’s like a little paradise for them. We found a couple of nice spots to take pictures of around the island and headed back to get some dinner. On the way back to the hotel we stumbled across a glow in the dark paint bar and released our artists.
On our last day it was time to decide where to go next. Josh and Chad were heading to Cambodia, Ben and Nicola back to Bangkok, and as for me I decided to catch a last minute flight to Phuket in hopes of meeting my friends in Ko Phi Phi. With that in mind we went to get some massages on the beach and take a swim before heading out.
My fondest memory was swimming out to a floating deck with Nicola. It looked so close but the eyes can be deceiving. I have to admit by the time we reached there I was pretty tired from the swim. After arriving a man on the beach that owned a handmade jewelry store, decided to come swim over to hang out with us. He told us his life stories of traveling around the world before deciding to call Koh Samet his home. Such a grand life of travel during a time when it was not so easy. Soon 2 kids on a canoe with a golden retriever paddled up as well to collect clams attached. It was peaceful watching them swim and play around. A lovely way to end our last moments on this island.
Thanks for Coming Along!
