Hello Steemians! This place may be familiar in your eyes, a good place that I show you at this time, of course you already know the name of the place, even this place becomes a lot of search on google.
The Grand Canyon, pictures do not do it justice on the shear size of it! Another highlight to our travels.
And this is a picture of me and my best friend:
While I want to give you most of the history with my photos, this time I keep some of the pictures I took with great beauty. That this place is very beautiful.
With its ever-changing and dramatic scenery of enormous proportions, the Grand Canyon is one of the world’s most spectacular landscapes. Its pine and fir forests, painted deserts, sandstone canyons, mesas and plateaus, volcanic and geologic features, the Colorado River, perennial streams, and waterfalls breathtakingly combine to form one of Earth’s greatest landmarks. The only one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World to be located in North America, more than 4,000,000 people visit the canyon each year, making it the most visited national park in the United States.
I can only recommend everyone to feel the beauty of this place. It makes no difference to see the entries searched on google, even the facts prove more than images on google.
Visiting the Grand Conyon on an incredibly warm and sunny summer day, the sun shines in this colorful place.
This is history of Grand Canyon:
The Grand Canyon or the Great Canyon is a steep-cliff gorge, carved by the Colorado River, north of Arizona. This canyon is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and is largely in the Grand Canyon National Park; one of the first national parks in the United States. President Theodore Roosevelt is one of the main supporters of the Grand Canyon area, visiting him on several occasions to hunt for mountain lions and enjoy incredible natural scenery.
This canyon, created by the Colorado River cutting a strait for millions of years, is approximately 446 km long, with a width ranging from 6 to 29 km and with a depth of more than 1,600 m. Nearly 2000 million years of Earth's history has been cut off by the Colorado River and its tributaries layer by layer of sediment when the Colorado Plateau starts to rise.
The Grand Canyon was first seen by Europeans in 1540, García López de Cárdenas of Spain. The first scientific expedition to the canyon was led by US Major John Wesley Powell in the late 1870s. Powell points to the open sedimentary rocks in the canyon as "the leaves in the grand storybook". However, long before that time, this region had been occupied by the native Americans who built it.
