In mid November I got invited to an interview at the University of Aberdeen's Dental School. The interview was scheduled for early December and it was mandatory. I had to attend it, or withdraw my application. There was one problem: my semester was not over, and I had 6 exams scheduled for that week. Being the person that I am, I decided to go anyways.
Granted, my teachers really supported me and I was able to take one exam early, and postpone one by a day. After that was all set, and I got my last second flights through Dallas and London and a little room in a pension, I hit the road. It was a long and tiring flight. So as I arrived at my pension I went straight to bed, so I could prepare all day next day for the interview. For my study break, I decided to walk around the old campus, which is one of the oldest in Europe.
It also has one of the most modern libraries in Europe. The library stand out from the old campus, but in a very pleasant way.
After my interview, I walked through the city, tired and drained, climbing up a little hill. As I stood on that hill, and as my eyes wandered over the surrounding city and coast, I knew all this trouble was worth it. Even the pressure of the looming five exams I had to take in the next two days did not push down as heavy.
So I guess what I am trying to say is that you should always try to take opportunities when they arise. I want to make a series of similar posts to this. Thank you for reading! Cheers !
