Hello again fellow Steemians!
Today we are back with our second post about our first road trip together as Lilo and Stitch, which took place in Greece in the summer of 2016. The Peloponnese is a peninsula in southern Greece that offers truly breath-taking landscapes but yet remains untouched by the tourist influence that has affected other destinations around the country. Its unique topography – lofty mountains, sandy beaches, crystal clear sea, healing rivers - has hosted some of the greatest historical and mythical figures and civilisations, like Hercules and the Mycenae. The traces of many civilisations that once called it home still live on in the Peloponnese’s Mycenaean palaces, Byzantine cities, classical temples, and Ottoman, Frankish and Venetian fortresses.
Here is a short clip of our adventure, which lasted for 10 days:
As explained in our first post, there will be another 2 parts to this post, describing in detail the places we visited, namely those of Polilimnio and Feneos. But first, we visited Elafonisos!.....
Here is a picture of Lilo enjoying the night at our drive-in camping spot!
Elafonisos is a majestic little island off the coast of the Peloponnese which is known for its golden beaches and its turquoise waters. It reminded us of the Caribbean, only less expensive, more peaceful and friendlier. We enjoyed lovely walks in the town at night where we usually ate fresh fish, always escorted by some delicious Italian wine. During the day, we spent most of our time at the beach doing all sorts of activities... Here is our amazing sand design of our national flag!
So if you are planning to go to Greece and haven’t figured out exactly what to do, comment here and we might be able to help you out with some good tips ;)
….after spending several days at Elafonisos, we headed north towards our next stop:
