We're very lucky to have been invited to travel to Bali, Indonesia to celebrate a friend's 50th year wedding anniversary.
50 years! More on that in later post, first thing is the admiration of Singapore's Changi Airport.
In 2016, Changi airport handled close to 60 Million passengers!
Winning 5 times in a row, Changi has been voted the 'World's Best Airport' every year since 2013. It serves more than 100 airlines flying to 380 cities around the world. Here are some of its features:
Not a great picture as I took a quick snap as I was rushing for my flight. With 4 huge terminals, Changi has over 350 shops where you can literally 'shop till you drop'.
Stationed throughout the airport are these shiatsu foot massage machines. Best thing about them? It's free to use!
Being very green conscious you'll find many gardens throughout the airport. This orchard garden also features a koi pond. Other gardens include the sunflower garden, butterfly garden and cactus garden.
A close up of Changi's flower gardens.
Throughout the airport there are free computer stations, free wifi, charging stations so you won't have to be without power for long. You'll also find other great services such as free movie theatre, gaming station (PS3 from memory!), big couches with large screens and many other entertainment decks to keep you occupied whilst you're waiting for your flight.
Once you've passed through the security screens there are also charging stations for you to charge your batteries before taking flight.
Since you're not allowed to carry more than 100mL of liquid through the security screens, Changi provides a water station where many passengers fill up their empty water bottles before hopping on board their plane.
There are many other great things you can do and enjoy such as the 4-storey tall indoor slide (world's tallest indoor slide in an airport) at T3, a rooftop pool/bar, hundreds of dining options to choose from, excellent lounges and much more.
Also I can't forget, it boasts the cheapest duty free alcohol in the region.
For me, I find it one of the easiest to navigate if you're in a rush to catch your flight, though it's busy I don't feel like it's crowded, it's super clean and efficient, staff are friendly and so far, pretty fuss free. For anyone transiting through, there is enough stuff to keep you busy, you'll be on your flight in no time!
What's your experience with Changi airport?
