Whale Watching
Iceland is of course, famous for the abundance of whales in it's waters and we were lucky enough to see a large number of humpback whales on the two whale watching trips that we went on. During our second trip we unusually saw 3 whales all swimming together in a group. This is unusual as humpbacks tend to be solitary creatures. It was my dream to get a photo of one of these majestic beasts jumping out of the water but alas, this was not to be. However, we did see a number of deep dives and flukes in the air and this photo is one of my favourites
The Puffins of Látrabjarg
The second most famous resident of Iceland (after Bjork of course), is the Atlantic puffin. These birds are full of personality and if you visit them in the west of the island in Látrabjarg, you are in for a treat. You can get so close as to almost touch them
I have a number of other puffin pictures on this blog post
Reykjavik
We ended our stay in Reykjavik, the capital city of Iceland. It's an amazing place, lots of culture, great sights. However, im not a city boy at all; id rather spend my day photographing out in the wilds but there were a few images that I was happy with after spending a couple of days there.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing the photos from my trip around Iceland. There will be more photo blogs to come in the very near future and I am planning to post up some information on some previous trips I have been on .
Thanks for reading
