Hawkesbury River
I would like to let the Steemit community know about a lovely place slightly north of Sydney Australia called the Hawkesbury River.
Firstly we put the boat in the water and decided to go to a few deserted places not many people know about as they are only accessible by boat .
First stop was Refuge Beach where there is a magnificent fresh water waterfall that cascades down to the beach. It looks like a movie set on a paradise island.
Clean fresh water to drink or have a high pressure shower.
Very invigorating.
You can actually walk behind the waterfall and there is a trail leading to the very top where there is natural rock pools you can swim in.
It would have been a popular place for the Aboriginal people before white settlement because of the fresh water and plentiful food supply of native animals and fish.
At the very top you can see where the Aboriginal tribes used to sharpen their tools on the wet rocks.
Refuge beach is usually very quiet as you can only access it by boat unless you are a dedicated bushwalker.
It does make a great place for a romantic picnic.
The next stop we decided to go and do a spot of evening fishing under the Hawkesbury railway bridge.
We didn't catch much however the sunset was to die for.
So next time there's any STEEMIANS plan a trip to Sydney Australia , give me a shout and we can explore some of the lessor know areas around Sydney.
So if you like the look of the Hawkesbury , give me an upvote and reesteem.
And let me know when your coming down under and Ill throw another shrimp on the barbie.
