This amazing waterfall (that is the closest to Portland) has two amazing drops, the upper and lower falls and we started out near the lower, but our photo journey begins with the upper falls. The falls are located just south of the Bridal Veil Falls which we had explored perilously and would have combined the two had I known how close it was. It was moderately crowded at the parking lot, but on the hike, saw few people and got chances to take photos and it just be the tow of us, so that was a treat.
It was an intense uphill hike mile or so hike to the top but well worth it! (Not to mention how sore we were from the previous day hikes.) As you approach the falls, the pathway goes right near the mist zone and you can get quite wet, so be cautious. Once you pass this area you cross the very cool wooden bridge and can get right up to the falls as you can see in the pictures.
This fall is pretty straight forward, but the rock structure behind the falls was incredible, and even more so at the lower falls. We highly recommend this beautiful hike that not only was amazing natural views, but amazing bridges too. Stay tuned for the lower falls post tomorrow!
