This beautiful big lake Krn (aka. "Veliko Krnsko jezero" in the Slovene language) is the highest Slovenian high mountain lake and lies at a height of 1391 m above the sea level.
I visited it in the past with my family, and I know when my little one will be able to walk a bit longer distances we will visit it again.
We started the hike in Lepena, with the goal coming on the top of the mountain Krn.
We walked along the lake,
and soon be greeted by the sign "Zivjo" which means "Hello",
and a little newt just sitting on the rock looking at us like we came from another planet.
We finally saw our final destination, which gave us strength in our legs.
Already in the middle of the ascent, when we looked back to the green "valley", which was made by the glacier way back before my time, we were amazed by beautiful nature.
But nothing can compare with the view from the top... I think this is the kind of look every hiker wants to see at the end of the successful climb.
I know we were loving it, and I recommend it to all who want to walk around pristine beauty far from the busy city lives.
