This is certainly one of the most unusual public parks in the world. Initially, a housing estate, a garden town with sixty residential buildings, was to be built there. The owner of the building was an industrialist, owner of textile factories. - Eusebi Güell, who during his numerous voyages to England has been inspired by his neighborhoods-gardens, inhabited by wealthy layers of society. He decided to build something similar in Barcelona, commissioning the architectural project of Gaudi.
The artist started work around 1900, but from the planned sixty buildings were created only two, with extremely fancy shapes, resembling gingerbread huts.
