## Special tourism zone in Rangamati.
The government is constructing 'exclusive tourism zone' or 'special tourist zone' in Rangamati. The project will be implemented through the Rangamati Hill District Council. Rangamati Hill District Council has taken a project worth Tk 1.2 billion in this regard. The DPP proposal, with its master plan, has been sent to the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs. Currently waiting for the project to be approved by the Ministry. Responsible authorities of the Rangamati Hill District Council said this information.
According to sources, the government took initiative to form a special tourist zone in Rangamati early 2016. Rangamati Hill District Council has taken the project to implement its master plan under the directives of the government and implementing the Tk 1.2 billion project. On May 29, 2017, the project proposal was sent to the ministry of the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
Kazi Abdus Samad, Executive Engineer of Rangamati Hill District Council, said the project is now waiting for approval from the ministry. Verification is almost finished. The ministry will approve the meeting. He said that a proposal to form a master plan for the development of the tourism industry in the Rangamati Hill District of the potential Rangamati Hill District, with the help of the government, has been prepared for the project of 12 billion taka including design and draft of the Chittagong Hill Tracts related to the Chittagong Hill Tracts Council. Prior to this, various consultations have been taken at a seminar organized at Rangamati Hill District Council earlier this year. According to the seminar's proposal, the project proposals were sent to the ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts on May 29, 2017.
