Today let me take you through the City of Oman and give you a glimpse of how the city looks like. I have shared many pictures of Oman in the past at specific places, but these are randomly clicked pictures in the City. Oman is an Arabian Country on the Arabian Sea coastline with a length of almost 1700 Kms. Mountains, Desert and Sea all blend into each other perfectly. Anyone who visits the place gets mesmerized by the beauty. It's just that tourism is yet not developed the way it should be. In the recent years there has been focus on building tourism in the Country but the actions are still very slow. It will take a long time till across the world people recognize this Country as one of the best destinations to travel, like Dubai or Maldives.
Gulf Countries are known for their Desert Lands but Oman has a mix of everything. In some parts of Oman there is good amount of rainfall in some months of the year, like the Salalah City. So, in a nutshell it's not a completely dry Country. Oil Industry is one of the main industry but not completely dependent on it. Besides Oil there is good level of Fisheries Industry and Dates and some other spices. The best part of this Country is that it's a very peaceful place to live. Crime rate is lowest and no terrorism threats which makes it a safe home for millions living in the Country be it Expats or local citizens, everyone lives here in peace and harmony.
Oman has a good amount of Sea Adventure activities. This place is called Marina Bandar Al Rowdha. At this place one finds many water sports activities to do. Quite a few people in Oman, specially the locals have their personal Yachts.
Through out the city when we drive through we get spectacular views of Mountains and Sea. Now there are some parts of the City which have become congested but still you will get the views as the buildings here cannot go more then 10 floors as per the Ministry rule
This is the Palace of the Sultan of Oman(King). He has multiple palaces and all of them are enclosed with walls. This particular one is open for people to see from outside. He does not live here, majorly his guests are put up here.
The back side of the palace which faces the Sea
Which gives these views
This is the opposite side of the front side of the palace which is the Oman National Museum.
On occassions like National Day, Eid, New Year this whole place gets lit up in multi colored lights and during night time it's a sight to not miss.
Driving in the outer limits of the City is fun because the views are very stunning as we drive through the mountains
Through out the city small gardens are maintained and taken very well care of
Oman has quite a few Forts and Castles of which some of them are also listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. I am sure people of these olden times were very strong and healthy. Most of these forts and castles are on hill peaks and it is a good climb up there for which one needs to be fit and healthy.
We enjoy the beach life here in Oman. It's clean and not crowded.
Hope you all enjoyed this little glimpse of Oman
