We have explored different side of Mauritius in my last 2 posts. Our third day in Mauritius was also spent away from islands, where we visited the capital city of Mauritius - Port Louis. This city is full of numerous buildings and monuments that mirrors its rich and diversified colonial history.
We visited Citadel fort also know as Fort Adelaide. Like all forts, this fort is also located at a high place, that enables you to have a look at the harbor as well as the whole city of Port Louis. It was build for the British Army Security way back in the 19th century. We throughly enjoyed its majestic view.
Our next stop was Caudan Water front which was an absolutely fun place be at. It is known to be the best place for any shopaholic, like myself, in Mauritius. It has many restaurants, with some of the best waterfront views, serving different cuisines. We had delicious food and a gala time at this place.
We also got an opportunity to visited two cathedrals. First of the two church was Marie Reine de la Paix, which is an open church adjacent to the Signal Mountain, where one can have a beautiful panoramic view of the city Port-Louis.
This place is also popular for gorgeous views where some of the best romantic Bollywood movies have been shot.
We also visited very famous and pretty red roof Cap Malheureux Church. Its nice to take pictures here, also because of the turquoise blue water background. Its a beautiful and peaceful spot, exactly what we needed at the end of the day. The beach also has slippery rocks. We enjoyed walking there, along the beach with a spectacular view.
I hope you enjoyed our third day of travel in Mauritius, as much as we did.!!
