Check this place out. I travel a lot for work and I always look very much forward to my next Airbnb. I love exploring other people's homes, experiencing their unique sense of decor and style, as well the feel of their life experiences and history. Modern kitchens, and fancy corners have their upsides, but I personally am a sucker for authentic charming cozy little places. This is how I fell in love with this Airbnb located in the heart of Athens, a mere 15 minute walk away from Victoria Metro Station.
Its spacious balcony with the exciting lively green plants in every corner transformed into an oasis for me each morning when I would take my freshly brewed coffee under the sun, and every evening when I would plug in my music in a moment of relaxation and pure bliss.
The inside is just as unique as the outside. The lady who owns it is in 60s now and this has been her home all her life. You can really see the history on her walls. Lots of charming snippets of art and unique blends of simplicity and authenticity.
I think when it comes to knowing you are staying in a unique place, the secret is in the details, details and DETAILS. Some people do not invest too much thought in the selection of their accommodation during travel. I think having a bed can be enough for some. For me, I see this as an opportunity to learn from a very authentic part of a new place. Being in the home of a local can tell you a lot about how the people live in this new city or country you have come to. Because I care a lot about the style of my accommodation, I rely on the pictures the owners chose to present on the Airbnb website. I would advise all to make sure these pictures provide a wholesome picture of the property. If you are lucky (and have similar taste to mine) you might end up with a gem like this one.
Cheers,
