In little villages in my country we still use to celebrate may, when it comes and when it ends, it is called the "Cantarmaggio" because we sing songs about may, this is what remain in our culture of the ancient pagan rituals for may celebration, or spring celebration. We use to sing, preparing wine and dance all covered with leaves and symbols of spring all around, we walk around the city singing, drinking and sharing flowers and plants. As a gift for nature and what nature give to us. This celebration still happen only in little villages now it lost his ritual sense it is just a moment of fun and a nice singing walk for tourist but is still impressive that this tradion still exist. Many young people partecipate to it with songs and preparing typical food for the celebration, when we sing the old songs we still feel a magic atmosphere. Like the time was not running out and in some space we can still breath the air of an old pagan enchanted ritual for the mother spring.
