✔️After the heli ride, time to explore on foot!
✔️To get views of the Nā Pali Coast on foot 2 main options:
- The popular Kalalau Trail - 11 miles trail (one way) for advanced hikers - classified as one of the best hike on the planet (Unfortunately closed at the moment due to flood damage).
- The Waimea Canyon trails that leads to beautiful vistas of the coast (Wet weather often closes some of them)
✔️We went 2) and drove to Waimea Canyon and hiked the 6-miles round trip of the Awa'awapuhi trail.
✔️On the way in you'll walk down-hill through mostly shading forest and vegetation and on the way back it is obviously up-hill but manageable there are no steep inclines.
✔️After a nice cool walk the views are absolutely rewarding on the left Nu'alolo Valley and on the right (where Guilly is looking) Awa'awapuhi Valley!
✔️The views of the valleys are stunning and can be quite scary as they are very sheer cliffs! Be careful!
✔️The hike takes about 4-5h return and we recommend using sticks as the first section can be very muddy and slippery and rain is pretty frequent!
