Ever heard the term "Shine like a star"?
Well , the Glowworm 'Arachnocampa luminosa' in the famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves really do shine like stars in the Sky.
Thousands of these tiny creatures radiate their luminescent light. So be mesmerired by the thousands of magical glowworms above, as we glide silently by boat. This makes us think like we are in a completely new world. Only a limited number of people are allowed to visit the Caves.
As the number of Tourists coming to visit these caves is increasing day by day the New Zealand Government took special steps to ensure the safety of these glow worms. These Glowworms are very closely guarded by a Scientific Advisory Group which have automated equipment that will monitors the air quality mainly the carbon dioxide levels, rock and air temperature, and humidity and the Data from this equipment is carefully analyzed by specialist staff.
