My wife and I wanted to give ourselves a special #present. And what could be a more special than time spent together in a spa resort of a romantic town? We chose a seaside town called Sopot in the north of Poland.
Resident Hotel (*****) seemed to be ideal, it had big convenient rooms, a spa, good central location and great reviews. We found a deal on Groupon, we paid 549PLN (£149) /2 person for 2 nights, including 2 breakfasts and a 2 course dinner. It also included unlimited entry to their spa, and deals including massages were also available.
We arrived at the hotel on Friday evening after a long train journey. The hotel was a 5 minutes’ walk away from the train station.
The receptionist greeted us with a nice smile.
Our room was a standard double room on the top floor (4th).
We had very good…. errrm sleep on this comfortable bed 😉
The room was nicely lit, creating a cosy atmosphere:
The room was spacious enough to hold a reading corner with a sofa where Veronika relaxed:
We didn’t use the iron (but we could have, hehe), and we could store our valuables in the safe (and we did, hehe).
Veronika loved the wallpaper in the bathroom (I have no idea why), and I loved the size of the bathtub (you can guess why 😉):
Despite the hotel’s central location, it was very peaceful at night. The room temperature was ideal for us, we had a very good sleep 😊
We go up fairly early, so the next morning we were the second guests at #breakfast.
We are very picky when it comes to food, so we were happy to see the wide choice of hot and cold options:
We both found what we liked:
We used the hotel's sauna later in the day:
We were the only guests in there for most of the time, except for when two ladies came in big bathrobes. We were shocked to see them sitting down in the sauna with a glass of champagne each, which they were dutifully sipping during the 10 minutes they spent inside.
The receptionist at the spa was very helpful, she was happy to show us around when we told her we were writing a #blog about our stay at the hotel:
The massage area looked quite relaxing too. If not for the fact that we've just had amazing thai massages recently on our trip to Thailand, we would used their services here.
Time passed real fast in there, when I checked my watch I was very surprised to see we were in there for almost 2 hours.
Soon after the #sauna it was dinner time. A two course dinner was included in our stay and we were looking forward to what a 5* Polish hotel can offer.
They brought us soft bread and butter as an appetiser.
Then came the starters.
And the main course:
We weren't impressed by the food we got, it was arranged to look good but we didn't like the way it tasted. Lucky we were not that hungry!
All in all we would recommend Hotel Rezydent to anyone visiting #sopot or #tricity. You'll have an amazing time if you're looking to relax in comfort. Maybe by that time they'll get a new chef and their dinners will improve too :)
