Hi there my Steemit friends and followers!
One of my recent bike trips took me to a very interesting place that I would like to show you in my today´s post. This super cool wooden windmill can be found in the tiny Silesian village of Choltice, some 10 km (6 mi) outside of the city of Opava.
The windmill was built in 1833 in a nearby village called Sadek and 45 years later, in 1878, it was moved to Choltice. As you can see in the photos, the windmill is situated on the top of a little hill, overlooking the surrounding landscape, and honestly, I have no idea how they actually moved this massive structure from one village to another.
The most famous landmark of Choltice and one of the protected technical monuments of the country, the windmill currently also serves as a little agricultural museum that is located inside.
The first photo is also my entry for today´s #landscapephotography contest hosted by .
