Haifa Port is largest of three major international seaports in Israel, including the port of Ashdod and Eilat. It has a natural deep-water harbor, which operates all year round and serves passenger and merchant ships.
It is one of the largest ports in the eastern Mediterranean Sea in terms of traffic and serves over 29 million tons of cargo per year. The port employs over 1,000 people and this figure is increased to 5,000 when cruise ships moor in Haifa.
The port of Haifa is located in norther area of Haifa on the Mediterranean coast and takes 3 kilometers along the coast. It hosts military, industrial, commercial facilities and also serves passenger cruise voyages.
The port serves objects for the sixth US Navy.
