A sight before you enter its popular beach
Welcome to Cefalù
One of the major touristic attractions in the island of Sicily is definitely a cozy beach town called Cefalù. But still so awesome I am going to describe it in my second article about hidden Sicilian wonders.
On the photo above you can see a lovely outdoor art piece I caught there on my iphone.
A beautiful seaside town was first mentioned 396 years BC. But let's forget about history and focus on things that matter the most: beautiful sunsets. And I talk about really outstanding sunsets like on this photo.
What to see there
Seeing is maybe not the right word. What you should enjoy there would be a more appropriate term. The sandy beach stretching alongside the town is a must see. If you don't mind all the tourist crowds, especially in July and August.
Can you imagine something as cool as this stairs?!
The other tourist attraction is the town's Duomo - an imposing two-towered Norman cathedral. But we will focus on a little different touristic enjoyments, such as cute sights and specialities.
Can you guess what is the coolest transportation in Italy?
What to eat beside Gellato?
Cannoli would a good choice. A pastry filled with creamy riccotta is a world-wide known Sicilian dish. It can be small as finger or big as a fist - depends of the region and provider. In the town you can see some cute standings offering this type of deserts.
Mamma Mia! Granite e Cannoli, per favore!
Conclusion
Cefalu is a must-see if you visit Sicily. It offers many wonderful sights, sandy beach and tasty foods. But thing I like the most are small but very artistic details that a sharp eye can notice. Look at this cages here. Could you see something as unusually interesting in some other country?
I have no idea what is this. But it sure looks cool!
Stay tuned for more Sicilian wonders
