The Maharaja of Tripura first dharmanikya excavated this pond in 1458. Its the main purpose was to prevent the water from people of the region. Currently, the area of the DharmaSagor is 23:18 acres.It is formerly the Comilla stadium and district school, in the northern part of the city corporation uddan and the deputy commissioner's office. This pond is considered as an entertainment centre near Comilla townships.
