Perfect spot for a #picnic lunch! With summer approaching, finding things to do outdoors in the desert are few and far between. My partner in crime and best friend Elizabeth and I headed over to Lake Mead Conservation Area a couple weeks ago to see the remnants of St. Thomas. I notice areas to pull over but never really stopped to check them out before. Only ever going to my destination or the common areas in the park. We headed out to Lake Mead area and I'm planning some more little lunch spots for you guys and gals. But Liz and I decided to stop at Rodgers Spring. Nice little picnic area by a natural spring. It felt much cooler by the water and since I have Heat/sun intolerance, keeping cool this coming summer is of most importance to me. I was playing with my #gopro #herosession5 and was able to grab some footage of the water. So clear, cool and beautiful. You don't want to swim in the water because there is a bacteria that can travel through mucus membranes that can potentially cause death. So #safteyfirst . There is a trail; perfect for an after lunch stroll. See Liz and I love #adventure, so we decided after we explored the spring area, to enjoy some fresh clean air, with a beautiful view. The walk was nice and all but that cave just looked too cool. Inclined with lose gravel terrain, taking it easy, watching your footing and taking your time can get you there. This little cave was cozy and did I mention the view? Nice place to think, read or go on a nice #daydate .
