Right in the middle of downtown St. Petersburg, Florida is a tranquil oasis. While many of the classic roadside attractions along Route 41 are long gone, it lives on as a popular spot for relaxing in the cool bottom of an ancient sinkhole called Sunken Gardens.
It operates today for a small fee and is supported by public and private assistance. The gardens showcase many rare horticultural displays and animal habitats.
Visitors take a relaxing stroll or engage in scheduled group activities such as yoga.
