Every time I fly to Europe I come in from an overnight flight and arrive early in the morning. I don't sleep well on planes, so by the time we land I am usually drained of all of my energy, and ready to go to bed. Usually it's hard to check into a hotel before the afternoon, so I'll wander around a little bit, grab breakfast, see some sites, and eagerly await check-in time.
I don't plan too many activities since I am usually too tired to do much. Once I finally get to my hotel room I am dead tired and ready for a nap. The only problem with falling asleep in the afternoon is I end up waking up late at night, rejuvenated and ready to start my vacation. Some cities are pretty quiet in the late night hours, thankfully Dublin is not one of those cities.
It was well after 1030pm when I was wide awake and looking for some drinks and a good time. Dublin had me covered. I caught a cab to Temple Bar which is full of nightlife, and the rest is history. Even on a Sunday night, Temple Bar is rockin. There are lots of bars filled with people, good music, and plenty of Guinness! After having a few drinks there are lots of places to grab a bite to eat too.

As far as the beginning of a European vacation goes, I find Dublin to be a great starting spot to get over the jet lag, se some cool places, and enjoy a good time! I'm not saying that Dublin is the only spot that likes to have a great time after dark, but it is one of my favorites. Dubliners are some of the friendliest and funnest people in the world.I definitely recommend you spend some time in Dublin!
What are some of your favorite things to do to get over jet lag? I'd love to hear about some of your favorite spots to spend the late night hours. Leave me a reply!
